Low blood sugar can cause sweating, shakiness, dizziness, hunger, fast heartbeat or confusion. Glimepiride may also cause weight gain.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003ePrecautions\u003cbr\u003e\nMonitor blood sugar as advised. Take extra care if there is kidney or liver disease, heavy alcohol use, or a history of low blood sugar. Avoid skipping meals and limit alcohol. Tell the doctor before surgery, prolonged fasting, or tests involving injected contrast dye. Seek urgent medical help for severe weakness, breathing difficulty, persistent vomiting, severe abdominal pain, or unusual sleepiness.
