What is it used for?
Albendazole is used to treat certain parasitic worm infections, including intestinal worm infections and some infections caused by worms in body tissues.

How does it work?
It stops parasitic worms from using glucose and producing energy, causing them to die.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed and follow the instructions on the product label. Do not change the dose, repeat treatment or stop early without medical advice. Follow any instructions about taking it with food.

Common side effects
Stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, headache and dizziness. Mild diarrhoea may also occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor if there is pregnancy, planned pregnancy, liver disease or a history of blood disorders. Long or repeated treatment may require blood and liver-function tests. Seek medical advice for yellowing of the skin or eyes, unusual bleeding, severe weakness or a severe skin reaction.
