Abd Syrup (Albendazole 200mg)

Composition:
Each 5 ml of syrup contains:

Albendazole IP 200 mg, Flavoured Syrupy Base: q.s.

Description:
ABD Syrup contains Albendazole, a broad-spectrum anthelmintic agent of the benzimidazole class. It acts by inhibiting microtubule polymerization in parasitic worms, resulting in impaired glucose uptake and depletion of glycogen stores, ultimately leading to parasite death.

It is effective against a wide variety of intestinal and tissue helminths in both adults and children.

Warnings and Precautions:

Shake well before use.

Use with caution in hepatic impairment; monitor liver function in prolonged use.

Avoid use during pregnancy unless clearly indicated.

Maintain proper hygiene and sanitation to prevent reinfection.

Not recommended for children below 1 year of age without medical advice.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Abdominal pain, nausea, dizziness, headache.

Occasional: Diarrhea, transient increase in liver enzymes.

Rare: Allergic rash, alopecia (reversible), bone marrow suppression with prolonged therapy.

Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture.
