Aclovir 800 Tabs (10X10) Acyclovir 800 Mg by Elder

What is it used for?
Acyclovir is an antiviral medicine used to treat herpes virus infections, including genital herpes, cold sores, shingles and chickenpox. It helps reduce the severity and duration of outbreaks but does not permanently remove the virus from the body.

How does it work?
It blocks the herpes virus from making new copies of itself, helping control the infection and allowing the body to heal.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed and complete the recommended course, even if symptoms improve. It may be taken with or without food. Drink plenty of fluids unless a doctor has advised otherwise. Do not take extra doses if a dose is missed; follow the prescribed instructions.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, headache and dizziness.

Precautions
Tell the doctor if there is kidney disease, dehydration, or an allergy to acyclovir or valacyclovir, as the dose may need adjustment. Older adults may need extra monitoring. Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Seek medical help for reduced urination, severe confusion, unusual tiredness, or a serious skin reaction.
