Povidone Iodine 5% w/w (equivalent to available Iodine 0.5% w/w)

Base: Talc base q.s.

Description:

Aldine Dusting Powder is a topical antiseptic formulation containing Povidone Iodine 5% w/w, designed for dry, clean, and effective infection control.
It provides broad-spectrum antimicrobial action against bacteria, fungi, viruses, protozoa, and spores by the gradual release of free iodine.
The dusting powder form helps absorb moisture, maintain dryness in skin folds, and prevent fungal and bacterial infections in areas prone to sweat and friction.
It is ideal for use on minor cuts, abrasions, burns, post-surgical wounds, and skin infections.

Warnings and Precautions:

For external use only.

Avoid contact with eyes, nose, mouth, and mucous membranes.

Do not use in individuals hypersensitive to iodine or povidone.

Use with caution in patients with thyroid disorders or those undergoing radioiodine therapy.

Prolonged use over large areas may cause systemic iodine absorption.

Discontinue if rash, irritation, or allergic reaction develops.

Do not apply to deep or large open wounds without medical advice.

Avoid simultaneous use with mercury- or silver-containing preparations.

Use during pregnancy or lactation only if advised by a physician.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Temporary brown discoloration of skin.

Occasional: Local itching, dryness, or mild irritation.

Rare: Allergic contact dermatitis or sensitivity reactions.

Very rare: Prolonged use may interfere with thyroid function.

Storage:

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, away from moisture and sunlight.

Keep the container tightly closed after use.
