Povidone Iodine 10% w/v (equivalent to available Iodine 1% w/v) ,Aqueous base: q.s.

Description:

Aldine Microbicidal Solution 10% is a topical antiseptic and disinfectant containing Povidone Iodine 10% w/v, known for its broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity.
It acts by releasing free iodine slowly, which effectively kills bacteria, fungi, viruses, protozoa, and spores.
This solution is used for preoperative skin disinfection, wound cleansing, minor cuts and burns, and general antiseptic care in both hospital and home settings.
It is non-irritant, non-staining, and provides sustained antiseptic protection while being gentle on the skin.

Warnings and Precautions:

For external use only.

Avoid contact with eyes, ears, and mucous membranes.

Do not use in individuals allergic to iodine or povidone.

Use with caution in patients with thyroid disorders or those undergoing radioiodine therapy.

Prolonged use over large skin areas may lead to systemic iodine absorption.

Stop use if irritation or allergic reaction occurs.

Not to be used for deep puncture wounds or serious burns without medical supervision.

Pregnant and lactating women should use only on medical advice.

Do not mix with mercury- or silver-containing antiseptics.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Temporary brown staining of skin or mild dryness.

Occasional: Local irritation, burning, or itching.

Rare: Allergic contact dermatitis or hypersensitivity.

Very rare: Prolonged, extensive application may affect thyroid function.

Storage:

Store below 25°C, in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Keep the container tightly closed when not in use.

Do not freeze.
