Description:

Aldine Microbicidal Solution is a broad-spectrum antiseptic and disinfectant containing Povidone Iodine 5% w/v, used for topical skin and wound disinfection.
It works by slowly releasing free iodine, which provides rapid and sustained antimicrobial activity against bacteria, fungi, viruses, spores, and protozoa.
This solution is suitable for preoperative skin preparation, minor wound cleansing, first aid disinfection, and infection prevention in healthcare and home settings.
It is gentle on the skin and maintains prolonged antiseptic protection with minimal irritation.

Warnings and Precautions:

For external use only.

Avoid contact with eyes, ears, and mucous membranes.

Do not use in individuals with known hypersensitivity to iodine or povidone.

Exercise caution in patients with thyroid disorders or those on radioiodine therapy.

Avoid prolonged or repeated application over large skin areas.

Discontinue use if rash, itching, or irritation develops.

Do not mix with mercury- or silver-based antiseptics, as this may cause chemical reactions.

Use during pregnancy and lactation only under medical supervision.

Not intended for internal use or ingestion.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Mild dryness, temporary brown staining, or minor irritation.

Occasional: Itching, redness, or burning sensation at the site of application.

Rare: Allergic contact dermatitis or hypersensitivity reactions.

Very rare: Systemic iodine absorption causing thyroid imbalance (with prolonged use on large areas).

Storage:

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture.

Keep the bottle tightly closed after each use.
