Povidone Iodine 5% w/v (equivalent to available Iodine 0.5% w/v) ,Aqueous base: q.s.

Description:

Aldine Microbicidal Solution is a broad-spectrum antiseptic solution containing Povidone Iodine 5% w/v, designed for topical disinfection of skin and mucous membranes.
It acts by gradual release of free iodine, which rapidly kills bacteria, fungi, viruses, spores, and protozoa.
This solution is suitable for preoperative skin preparation, wound cleansing, first aid disinfection, and infection prevention in minor cuts, burns, and abrasions.
It provides rapid and persistent antimicrobial activity with low irritation potential and excellent skin tolerance.

Warnings and Precautions:

For external use only.

Avoid contact with eyes, ears, and mucous membranes.

Do not use in individuals with known iodine hypersensitivity.

Use cautiously in thyroid disorders, especially hyperthyroidism.

Avoid prolonged or repeated use over large skin areas.

Discontinue if irritation, rash, or allergic reaction occurs.

Do not mix with mercury-based or silver-based antiseptics, as this may produce chemical incompatibility.

Use in pregnant or lactating women only if advised by a physician.

Not intended for internal use or ingestion.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Mild skin irritation, dryness, or transient brown staining.

Occasional: Itching or redness at the application site.

Rare: Allergic contact dermatitis or hypersensitivity reaction.

Very rare: Systemic iodine absorption leading to thyroid dysfunction (with excessive use).

Storage:

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture.

Keep the bottle tightly closed after use.

Do not freeze.
