Description:

Aldine-Oz Ointment is a broad-spectrum topical antimicrobial preparation combining Povidone Iodine and Ornidazole.
Povidone Iodine acts as a powerful antiseptic, releasing free iodine to kill bacteria, viruses, fungi, spores, and protozoa, while Ornidazole, a nitroimidazole derivative, offers antibacterial and antiprotozoal activity against anaerobic bacteria and protozoal infections.
This dual-action formulation provides enhanced protection against mixed infections, promotes faster wound healing, and helps prevent infection in minor cuts, abrasions, burns, surgical wounds, ulcers, and skin lesions.

Warnings and Precautions:

For external use only.

Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes.

Do not use in patients allergic to iodine, povidone, or nitroimidazoles.

Use with caution in patients with thyroid disorders or those receiving radioiodine therapy.

Prolonged or extensive application may lead to systemic iodine absorption.

Discontinue if irritation, redness, or rash occurs.

Not recommended for deep or puncture wounds without medical supervision.

Avoid simultaneous use with mercury- or silver-based antiseptics.

Use during pregnancy and lactation only under medical advice.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Temporary brown discoloration of skin.

Occasional: Mild local irritation, itching, or dryness.

Rare: Allergic contact dermatitis or hypersensitivity reaction.

Very rare: Systemic iodine absorption causing thyroid dysfunction with prolonged use.

Storage:

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Keep the tube tightly closed after each use.

Do not refrigerate or freeze.
