Composition:

Each gram of cream contains:

Clobetasol Propionate 0.05% w/w, Gentamicin Sulphate 0.1% w/w ,Iodochlorhydroxyquinoline 1% w/w ,Ketoconazole 2% w/w ,Chlorocresol 0.1% w/w (preservative) ,Cream base: q.s.

Description:

Alkemderm 5 Cream is a broad-spectrum topical combination formulated to treat inflammatory, fungal, and bacterial skin infections.

Clobetasol Propionate: A potent corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, itching, and redness.

Gentamicin Sulphate: An aminoglycoside antibiotic effective against Gram-negative and some Gram-positive bacteria.

Iodochlorhydroxyquinoline: A broad-spectrum antibacterial and antifungal agent.

Ketoconazole: An imidazole antifungal active against dermatophytes and yeasts.

Chlorocresol: Acts as a preservative to maintain the cream’s stability and prevent microbial contamination.

This combination provides anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, and antipruritic actions, making it suitable for mixed infections such as eczema, dermatitis, athlete’s foot, ringworm, and candidiasis.

Warnings and Precautions:

For external use only; avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or mucous membranes.

Use under medical supervision; prolonged use may cause skin thinning or steroid-related side effects.

Do not apply on open wounds, acne, or viral skin infections (e.g., herpes, varicella).

Discontinue use if irritation, redness, or hypersensitivity occurs.

Avoid occlusive dressings unless prescribed.

Use with caution in children, pregnant, or lactating women.

Do not use continuously for more than 2–3 weeks without medical advice.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Mild burning, itching, or dryness at the application site.

Occasional: Skin irritation, folliculitis, or local allergic reaction.

Rare (with prolonged use): Skin atrophy, hypopigmentation, or secondary infections due to steroid overuse.

Storage:

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

Do not freeze.
