Composition

Sertaconazole Nitrate 2% w/w.

Sertaconazole is a topical antifungal medicine.

Uses

It is used to treat fungal skin infections such as:

- Athlete's foot (tinea pedis)
- Ringworm (tinea corporis)
- Jock itch (tinea cruris)
- Certain superficial yeast infections of the skin

It works by disrupting the fungal cell membrane, preventing the fungus from growing.

How to Use

Apply a thin layer to the affected and surrounding skin as prescribed by your doctor, usually after cleaning and thoroughly drying the area.

Wash your hands before and after application. Avoid getting the cream in the eyes, mouth, or other mucous membranes.

Continue treatment for the prescribed duration even if symptoms improve early. Do not use more frequently than recommended.

Precautions & Warnings

Tell your doctor if:

- You have an allergy to sertaconazole or other azole antifungals.
- The affected area is severely irritated, broken, or infected.
- The infection is extensive or keeps returning.

Avoid covering the treated area with an airtight dressing unless specifically instructed.

If symptoms worsen or there is no improvement after the expected treatment period, consult a doctor because the condition may not be fungal.

Possible Side Effects

Usually mild and temporary:

- Burning or stinging
- Itching
- Redness
- Dryness or irritation at the application site

Stop using it and seek medical advice if you develop significant swelling, blistering, severe rash, or other signs of an allergic reaction.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

If you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using sertaconazole. Avoid applying it to the breast/nipple area immediately before breastfeeding unless specifically advised.

Storage

Store at room temperature away from excessive heat and moisture. Keep out another route. Do not use it for eye, vaginal, or oral infections unless you have been prescribed a formulation specifically intended for that of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date.
