What is it used for?
Used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It may also help prevent chest pain due to angina when prescribed by a doctor.

How does it work?
Amlodipine relaxes and widens blood vessels. Atenolol slows the heart rate and reduces the heart’s workload, helping lower blood pressure.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Do not stop it suddenly, especially because of atenolol. If a dose is missed, follow the instructions provided by the doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Dizziness, headache, flushing, ankle swelling, tiredness, slow heartbeat, cold hands or feet, and nausea.

Precautions
Use only under medical advice if there is a slow heartbeat, low blood pressure, asthma or other breathing problems, heart conduction problems, heart failure, diabetes, or kidney disease. Monitor for excessive dizziness or fainting. Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Do not stop treatment suddenly.
