Description:

Amlogen-5 contains Amlodipine, a long-acting calcium channel blocker (dihydropyridine class) that acts by inhibiting calcium ion influx into vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle.
It leads to vasodilation, resulting in reduced blood pressure and decreased cardiac workload.
It is indicated for the management of hypertension, chronic stable angina, and vasospastic (Prinzmetal’s) angina.

Warnings and Precautions:

For oral use only under medical supervision.

Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment, severe hypotension, or heart failure.

May cause dizziness or fatigue; caution when driving or operating machinery.

Gradual withdrawal is recommended; avoid abrupt discontinuation.

Monitor blood pressure and heart rate regularly during therapy.

Safe use in pregnancy or lactation should be based on medical advice only.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Headache, dizziness, flushing, ankle edema, and fatigue.

Occasional: Palpitations, abdominal discomfort, or sleep disturbances.

Rare: Allergic reactions, hypotension, or gingival hyperplasia.
