Amoxclav Dds D/Suspn (Fpms) (30Ml) Amoxycillin 400Mg, Clavulanic Acid 57Mg by Elder

What is it used for?
Amoxycillin with clavulanic acid is a prescription antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections, such as certain infections of the ear, sinuses, throat, lungs, skin, urinary tract and teeth. It does not work for viral infections such as colds or flu.

How does it work?
Amoxycillin kills susceptible bacteria by disrupting their cell walls. Clavulanic acid helps protect amoxycillin from bacterial enzymes that can otherwise make it ineffective.

How to take/use it
Take it only as prescribed by a doctor, preferably with a meal to reduce stomach upset. Complete the prescribed course, even if symptoms improve. Do not share it or use leftover antibiotics.

Common side effects
Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort and skin rash may occur. Thrush can also develop.

Precautions
Do not take it if there has been a serious allergy to penicillin, amoxycillin, clavulanic acid or related antibiotics. Inform the doctor about kidney or liver problems and any previous antibiotic-related jaundice or liver reaction. Seek urgent medical help for breathing difficulty, swelling of the face or throat, severe skin rash, or severe or bloody diarrhoea.
