Amoxclav Dds D/Suspn+Wfi (Ld) (10X30Ml) Amoxycillin 400Mg, Clavulanic Acid 57Mg by Elder

What is it used for?
Amoxycillin with clavulanic acid is an antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections, such as infections of the ear, sinuses, throat, chest, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues, and teeth. It does not work against viral infections such as colds or flu.

How does it work?
Amoxycillin kills susceptible bacteria by preventing them from building their protective cell wall. Clavulanic acid helps protect amoxycillin from enzymes made by some bacteria, allowing it to work against a wider range of infections.

How to take/use it
Take it only as prescribed by a doctor. Take doses with a meal or snack to reduce stomach upset, and complete the prescribed course even if symptoms improve. Do not share this antibiotic or use leftover medicine.

Common side effects
Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort and skin rash may occur. Thrush can also occur. Seek medical advice if diarrhoea is severe or persistent.

Precautions
Do not take it if there has been a serious allergy to penicillin, amoxycillin, clavulanic acid or related antibiotics. Tell the doctor about previous antibiotic-related jaundice or liver problems, kidney disease, or any history of severe allergy. Seek urgent medical help for breathing difficulty, swelling of the face or throat, severe rash, or blistering or peeling skin.
