What is it used for?
This medicine is used to help prevent heart attacks and strokes in people at increased cardiovascular risk, especially those with established heart disease. It helps lower cholesterol and reduce the formation of harmful blood clots.

How does it work?
Atorvastatin lowers harmful LDL cholesterol production in the liver. Aspirin reduces the ability of platelets to stick together, helping prevent blood clots.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, preferably at the same time each day. Swallow the tablet with water and do not stop it without medical advice. If a dose is missed, follow the instructions provided by the doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Indigestion, stomach discomfort, nausea, easy bruising or bleeding, headache, and muscle aches may occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about a history of stomach ulcers or bleeding, liver disease, kidney disease, asthma triggered by painkillers, or bleeding disorders. Seek medical advice for unusual bleeding, black stools, vomiting blood, severe muscle pain or weakness, or yellowing of the skin or eyes. Inform the doctor about all medicines being taken, especially blood thinners, other painkillers, and medicines that may affect the liver. This medicine is generally not used during pregnancy; ask a doctor before use while breastfeeding.
