What is it used for?
This medicine is used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis (hay fever), such as sneezing, runny or blocked nose, and itchy or watery eyes.

How does it work?
Bilastine blocks histamine, a chemical that causes allergy symptoms. Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, substances involved in allergic inflammation and swelling of the airways.

How to take/use it
Take it only as prescribed by the doctor. Follow the instructions on the label, and do not take more or use it for longer than recommended. Do not stop or change treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Headache, sleepiness or tiredness, stomach pain, nausea, or diarrhoea may occur.

Precautions
Montelukast may rarely cause mood or behaviour changes, disturbed sleep, nightmares, irritability, anxiety, depression, or suicidal thoughts. Seek medical advice promptly if these occur. It is not intended to treat a sudden asthma or breathing attack. Drowsiness may occur; take care when driving or operating machinery until its effects are known. Tell the doctor about other medicines and any liver or kidney problems.
