What is it used for?
This medicine is mainly used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, runny or blocked nose, and itchy or watery eyes.

How does it work?
Bilastine blocks histamine, a substance involved in allergy symptoms. Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, which can contribute to inflammation and congestion in the airways and nose.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed and swallow it with water. Follow the product label or doctor's instructions about timing with food or fruit juice, as these may affect bilastine absorption. Do not take more or use it for longer than advised.

Common side effects
Headache, sleepiness, dizziness, tiredness, stomach pain, diarrhoea, or nausea may occur.

Precautions
Montelukast is not a treatment for a sudden asthma attack. Seek medical advice promptly if there are mood or behaviour changes, nightmares, sleep problems, depression, or thoughts of self-harm. Avoid driving or operating machinery if sleepy or dizzy. Tell the doctor about pregnancy, breastfeeding, liver disease, or other medicines being used.
