What is it used for?
Oral rehydration solution (ORS) helps prevent and treat dehydration caused by diarrhoea, vomiting, excessive sweating or other fluid loss. It replaces lost water and essential salts.

How does it work?
ORS contains glucose and salts that help the intestine absorb water more effectively, restoring the body's fluid and electrolyte balance.

How to take/use it
Dissolve the entire sachet in the exact amount of clean water stated on the package. Stir well and drink in frequent small sips. Do not take the powder directly or prepare it with less or more water than recommended. Use the prepared solution only as directed on the label.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, bloating or mild stomach discomfort may occur, especially if taken too quickly.

Precautions
Seek urgent medical care for severe dehydration, persistent vomiting, blood in the stool, high fever, confusion, very little urination or inability to drink. Use only with medical advice in severe kidney disease, heart failure or other conditions requiring fluid or salt restriction. ORS does not replace medical treatment for the cause of diarrhoea.
