Atorvastatin Calcium equivalent to Atorvastatin 10 mg

Description:

Atvas 10 contains Atorvastatin, a potent HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) that effectively lowers total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides, while modestly increasing HDL cholesterol.
It is indicated for the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia, mixed dyslipidemia, and for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases such as heart attack, stroke, and angina in patients at risk.

Warnings and Precautions:

For oral administration only under medical supervision.

Perform liver function tests before initiation and periodically thereafter.

Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment or history of alcohol abuse.

Increased risk of myopathy or rhabdomyolysis when used with fibrates or niacin.

Discontinue immediately if unexplained muscle pain or weakness develops.

Contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding — discontinue if pregnancy occurs.

Continue dietary and lifestyle modifications for optimal cholesterol control.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Headache, abdominal discomfort, constipation, and nausea.

Occasional: Myalgia, fatigue, or mild liver enzyme elevation.

Rare: Myopathy, rhabdomyolysis, or hypersensitivity reactions.
