Composition
Each vial contains Aztreonam 1 g as a sterile powder for reconstitution and injection.

Description
Aztreosurge 1 gm Injection is a monobactam antibiotic indicated for the treatment of serious gram-negative bacterial infections such as urinary tract infections, lower respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, intra-abdominal infections and septicemia. It acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death. It is especially useful in patients allergic to penicillin or cephalosporins due to minimal cross-reactivity.

Adverse Effects
Common adverse effects include injection-site pain, redness or swelling, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache and mild rash. Rare but serious reactions may include allergic responses, low blood pressure, liver enzyme elevation or severe skin reactions.

Precautions
Use with caution in patients with known hypersensitivity to aztreonam or other beta-lactam antibiotics. Dose adjustment may be required in renal impairment. Monitor kidney and liver function during prolonged treatment. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should use the medicine only under medical supervision. Inform the healthcare provider about all ongoing medications to prevent interactions.
