Composition
Each vial contains Aztreonam 2 g for reconstitution, supplied as a sterile powder for injection.

Description
Aztreosurge 2 gm Injection is a monobactam antibiotic used for the treatment of severe bacterial infections caused by gram-negative organisms, including urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, intra-abdominal infections and septicemia. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, resulting in the destruction of the infecting bacteria. It is commonly used in hospitalized patients, especially those with penicillin allergy because cross-reactivity is minimal.

Adverse Effects
Possible adverse effects include injection-site pain or swelling, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, headache and elevated liver enzymes. In rare cases, allergic reactions, low blood pressure, or severe skin reactions may occur.

Precautions
Use cautiously in patients with a known allergy to aztreonam or other beta-lactam antibiotics. Dose adjustment is required in renal impairment. Monitor liver and kidney function during prolonged therapy. Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if clearly needed and under medical guidance.
