Description:
Bioval 200 Tablet contains Sodium Valproate, an anticonvulsant and mood-stabilizing agent used in the management of epilepsy, bipolar disorder, and migraine prophylaxis.
It works by increasing gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) levels in the brain, which helps stabilize neuronal activity and prevent seizures or mood swings.

Warnings and Precautions:

Use under medical supervision only.

Not recommended in patients with hepatic impairment, urea cycle disorders, or pancreatitis.

Regular monitoring of liver function, platelet count, and blood levels is advised during prolonged therapy.

May interact with other anticonvulsants or anticoagulants; inform your doctor of all medications.

Avoid abrupt discontinuation to prevent seizure recurrence.

Not recommended during pregnancy unless prescribed, due to risk of congenital malformations.

Adverse Effects:
Nausea, vomiting, dizziness, tremor, hair loss, weight gain, or gastrointestinal discomfort. Rarely, liver toxicity, pancreatitis, or hematologic abnormalities may occur.
