What is it used for?
Budesonide nebuliser suspension is an inhaled corticosteroid used to reduce and control inflammation in the airways, mainly for asthma and other breathing conditions when prescribed by a doctor. It helps prevent symptoms but is not usually a fast-acting medicine for sudden breathing attacks.

How does it work?
It reduces swelling and inflammation in the airways, helping them stay open and making breathing easier over time.

How to take/use it
Use only with a nebuliser and exactly as prescribed. Shake the suspension before use, and do not swallow or inject it. Rinse the mouth with water after each treatment and clean the nebuliser as directed. Do not stop regular treatment suddenly without medical advice.

Common side effects
Sore or irritated throat, cough, hoarseness and oral thrush (white patches or soreness in the mouth). Headache may also occur.

Precautions
This medicine is not a substitute for a reliever inhaler during a sudden asthma or breathing attack. Tell the doctor about tuberculosis or other infections, liver disease, osteoporosis, glaucoma or cataracts, and about all medicines being used. Seek medical advice if breathing worsens or if signs of an allergic reaction or mouth infection occur. Children using it for a long time may need growth monitoring.
