What is it used for?
Budesonide 200 micrograms is an inhaled corticosteroid used regularly to prevent and control asthma symptoms by reducing inflammation in the airways. It is not usually meant for quick relief during a sudden breathing attack.

How does it work?
It reduces swelling and inflammation in the airways, helping them stay open and reducing wheezing, coughing and breathing difficulty over time.

How to take/use it
Use it by inhalation exactly as prescribed and follow the instructions for the inhaler device. Use it regularly, even when symptoms are controlled. Rinse the mouth and gargle with water after use, then spit it out. Do not stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Sore throat, hoarseness, cough, dry or irritated mouth, and oral fungal infection (thrush). Headache may also occur.

Precautions
This medicine does not replace a fast-acting reliever inhaler for sudden breathing difficulty. Seek urgent medical help if breathing symptoms rapidly worsen. Tell the doctor about infections, tuberculosis, liver problems, or long-term use of steroid medicines. Check inhaler technique regularly and report persistent white patches in the mouth or voice changes.
