What is it used for?
Used regularly to control asthma and other long-term breathing conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It helps reduce airway inflammation and prevent symptoms such as wheezing, coughing and breathlessness. It is not a substitute for emergency treatment unless specifically prescribed for relief.

How does it work?
Budesonide is an inhaled corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in the airways. Formoterol is a long-acting bronchodilator that relaxes the airway muscles, helping keep the airways open.

How to take/use it
Use only as prescribed. Follow the inhaler instructions carefully and use the correct inhaler technique. Do not exceed the prescribed use. Rinse the mouth with water and spit it out after each dose. Do not stop regular treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Sore throat, hoarseness, cough, headache, shaking or tremor, fast heartbeat and oral thrush (white patches or soreness in the mouth).

Precautions
Tell the doctor about heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid problems, seizures, or low potassium. Seek urgent medical help for severe or worsening breathing difficulty, chest pain, or a serious allergic reaction. Consult a doctor if mouth soreness or white patches develop. Keep a separately prescribed rescue inhaler available if advised.
