Burn Bliss Oint (15Gm) Silver Sulfadiazine 1%, Chlorhexidine Gluconate Sol 0.6% by Elder

What is it used for?
Used on burns and some skin wounds to help prevent or treat bacterial infection. It should be used under medical advice, especially for large, deep or extensive burns.

How does it work?
Silver sulfadiazine and chlorhexidine are topical antiseptics that reduce or kill bacteria on the skin and wound surface.

How to take/use it
For external use only. Clean the affected area as directed and apply/use the medicine exactly as prescribed. Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth and other mucous membranes. Do not cover the area with a tight dressing unless advised by a healthcare professional.

Common side effects
Temporary burning or stinging, redness, itching, skin irritation or rash may occur. Stop using it and seek medical help for severe swelling, breathing difficulty or a widespread rash.

Precautions
Do not use if allergic to silver sulfadiazine, sulfonamide medicines, chlorhexidine or any ingredient. Avoid use in newborns and premature babies, and near the end of pregnancy unless specifically prescribed. Tell the doctor before use on large areas, deep wounds, or in people with severe kidney or liver problems. Keep away from the eyes and do not swallow.
