What is it used for?
Used to prevent or treat iron and folic acid deficiency, which can lead to deficiency-related anaemia. Zinc provides additional nutritional supplementation when needed.

How does it work?
Iron and folic acid help the body make healthy red blood cells and haemoglobin. Zinc supports normal growth, tissue repair and immune function.

How to take/use it
Take only as directed on the product label or by a healthcare professional. Swallow with water. Avoid taking it at the same time as tea, coffee, milk, calcium supplements or antacids, as these may reduce iron absorption. Do not exceed the recommended amount.

Common side effects
Nausea, stomach upset, constipation or diarrhoea, metallic taste and dark-coloured stools may occur.

Precautions
Keep out of reach of children; an iron overdose can be dangerous. Tell a healthcare professional about other medicines being taken, especially antacids, calcium supplements, thyroid medicines or certain antibiotics.
