What is it used for?
Cholecalciferol is a form of vitamin D used to prevent or treat vitamin D deficiency. It helps the body absorb calcium and supports healthy bones and teeth.

How does it work?
It is converted in the body into an active form of vitamin D. This helps improve calcium and phosphate absorption and supports bone mineralisation.

How to take/use it
Take it only as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. Swallow the capsule whole, preferably with a meal. Do not take it more often or for longer than advised, and do not combine it with other vitamin D or calcium supplements unless recommended.

Common side effects
Usually well tolerated when used as directed. Nausea, vomiting, constipation, stomach discomfort, thirst or increased urination may occur, especially with excessive use.

Precautions
Use only under medical advice if there is high calcium, kidney disease, kidney stones, or a condition that increases calcium levels. Seek medical help for persistent nausea, vomiting, severe weakness, confusion, excessive thirst or frequent urination. Tell the doctor about other medicines, especially digoxin, thiazide diuretics, or calcium and vitamin D supplements.
