Description:

Carviedge 12.5 contains Carvedilol, a non-selective β-adrenergic blocker with additional α₁-blocking activity. This combination results in vasodilation, reduction in heart rate, and decreased myocardial workload, making it useful in controlling blood pressure and improving cardiac efficiency.
It is indicated for the management of essential hypertension, chronic stable angina, and chronic heart failure, and as adjunctive therapy in left ventricular dysfunction following myocardial infarction.

Warnings and Precautions:

For oral use only, under medical supervision.

Do not discontinue abruptly; taper dose gradually to prevent rebound hypertension or angina.

Use with caution in patients with bradycardia, heart block, hepatic impairment, or heart failure.

Avoid in patients with bronchial asthma or severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) due to risk of bronchospasm.

May mask signs of hypoglycaemia in diabetic patients—monitor blood glucose regularly.

Monitor blood pressure and pulse rate during therapy.

Use during pregnancy or lactation only if clearly indicated.

May cause drowsiness or dizziness; avoid operating machinery or driving if affected.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Dizziness, bradycardia, fatigue, hypotension, and headache.

Occasional: Nausea, diarrhea, peripheral edema, or weight gain.

Rare: Worsening of heart failure, bronchospasm, hepatic dysfunction, or hypersensitivity reactions.

Storage:

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture.
