Description:

Carviedge 3.125 contains Carvedilol, a non-selective β-adrenergic blocker with additional α₁-blocking activity. This dual action leads to reduced heart rate, myocardial contractility, and peripheral vascular resistance, resulting in lower blood pressure and decreased cardiac workload.
It is primarily indicated for the management of hypertension, chronic heart failure, and as adjunct therapy after myocardial infarction to improve cardiac function.

Warnings and Precautions:

For oral use only, to be taken under medical supervision.

Do not discontinue abruptly; taper dose gradually to prevent rebound hypertension or ischemia.

Use with caution in patients with bradycardia, heart block, severe hepatic impairment, or heart failure.

May mask hypoglycaemia symptoms in diabetic patients — monitor blood glucose closely.

Avoid in patients with bronchial asthma or severe COPD due to risk of bronchospasm.

Caution when used with other drugs that may lower heart rate or blood pressure (e.g., verapamil, diltiazem, digoxin).

Use during pregnancy or lactation only if clearly indicated.

May cause dizziness or fatigue; caution while driving or operating machinery.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Dizziness, bradycardia, fatigue, hypotension, headache.

Occasional: Nausea, diarrhea, peripheral edema, weight gain.

Rare: Worsening of heart failure, bronchospasm, hepatic dysfunction, or allergic reactions.
