Composition

Each vial contains Cefoperazone Sodium equivalent to 1 g of Cefoperazone and Sulbactam Sodium equivalent to 500 mg of Sulbactam. Supplied with sterile Water for Injection.

Description

Cefotech-S 1.5 is a combination of Cefoperazone, a broad-spectrum third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, and Sulbactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor that extends the antibacterial spectrum against resistant organisms. It is used for treating respiratory infections, intra-abdominal infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, septicemia and gynecological infections. It is administered intramuscularly or intravenously under medical supervision.

Precautions

Use with caution in patients allergic to penicillins or cephalosporins. Liver function should be monitored, especially in patients with hepatic disease. Dose adjustments may be required in renal or hepatic impairment. Use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only if recommended by a physician. Prolonged use may result in secondary infections.

Adverse Effects

Possible side effects include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, injection-site pain, rash and headache. Rare reactions may include allergic responses, elevated liver enzymes and blood cell abnormalities.

Store below 25°C, protect from moisture and direct sunlight and keep in the original pack. Keep out of reach of children.
