What is it used for?
Used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It may help lower the risk of complications related to persistently high blood pressure when prescribed by a doctor.

How does it work?
Cilnidipine relaxes and widens blood vessels, while metoprolol slows the heart rate and reduces the heart’s workload. Together, they help lower blood pressure.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed, preferably at the same time each day. Swallow the extended-release tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew it. Do not stop it suddenly without medical advice.

Common side effects
Dizziness, tiredness, headache, slow heartbeat, low blood pressure, flushing, and swelling of the ankles or feet may occur.

Precautions
Use only under medical supervision, especially with asthma or breathing problems, a very slow heartbeat, heart block, heart failure, diabetes, or liver disease. Metoprolol may hide some warning signs of low blood sugar. Rise slowly if dizzy, and seek medical help for fainting, severe breathing difficulty, or a very slow heartbeat. Tell the doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding and about all other medicines being taken.
