What is it used for?
Cilostazol is used to improve walking ability and reduce leg pain caused by intermittent claudication, a condition in which narrowed leg arteries reduce blood flow during walking.

How does it work?
It widens blood vessels and reduces the tendency of platelets to stick together, helping improve blood flow to the legs.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed. It is usually taken on an empty stomach, either at least 30 minutes before or 2 hours after meals. Do not stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Headache, diarrhoea, abnormal stools, dizziness, palpitations, and a fast heartbeat.

Precautions
Do not use cilostazol if there is heart failure or active bleeding. Inform the doctor about heart rhythm problems, recent heart attack or chest pain, bleeding disorders, kidney or liver disease, and all other medicines being taken. Seek medical help for severe or persistent headache, fainting, chest pain, or a fast or irregular heartbeat.
