What is it used for?
This medicine is used to help prevent harmful blood clots and reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke, especially in people with certain heart conditions or after procedures such as coronary stent placement. It is usually prescribed for a specific period by a doctor.

How does it work?
Clopidogrel and aspirin are antiplatelet medicines. They reduce the ability of platelets in the blood to stick together and form clots.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, at the same time each day. Swallow with water and do not stop taking it without medical advice. If a dose is missed, follow the instructions provided by the doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Easy bruising, prolonged bleeding from cuts, nosebleeds, indigestion, stomach discomfort, diarrhoea, nausea, or headache.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about any history of stomach ulcer, bleeding disorder, liver disease, or allergy to aspirin or clopidogrel. Inform the doctor or dentist before surgery or dental treatment. Avoid starting painkillers such as ibuprofen or other blood-thinning medicines unless advised. Seek urgent medical help for severe or unusual bleeding, black stools, vomiting blood, blood in urine, or sudden weakness or difficulty speaking.
