What is it used for?
Clotrimazole 1% is an antifungal medicine used to treat fungal infections of the skin, such as athlete’s foot, ringworm, jock itch and some yeast infections affecting the skin.

How does it work?
It damages the outer membrane of fungi, stopping their growth and helping clear the infection.

How to take/use it
For use on the skin only when labelled for topical use. Apply to clean, dry affected skin and follow the instructions on the package or from a healthcare professional. Wash hands before and after use, unless treating the hands. Avoid contact with the eyes and mouth.

Common side effects
Mild burning, stinging, itching, redness, irritation or rash at the application site.

Precautions
Do not use if allergic to clotrimazole or any ingredient. Stop use and seek medical advice if severe irritation, swelling or an allergic reaction occurs. Do not apply to the eyes or inside the mouth. Seek medical advice if the infection worsens or does not improve as expected. Consult a healthcare professional before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
