COSART AM TAB (Losartan Potassium 50 mg + Amlodipine 5 mg)

Composition
Each tablet contains Losartan Potassium 50 mg and Amlodipine 5 mg along with suitable excipients.

Description
Cosart AM Tablet is a combination antihypertensive medicine used for the treatment of high blood pressure when monotherapy is insufficient. Losartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, relaxes blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II, while Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, reduces vascular resistance by inhibiting calcium entry into vascular smooth muscle. The combined action provides effective and sustained blood pressure control and helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications.

Adverse Effects
Common adverse effects may include dizziness, headache, flushing, ankle edema, fatigue and palpitations. In some cases, hypotension, nausea or gastrointestinal discomfort may occur.

Precautions
Use with caution in patients with liver impairment, dehydration, renal artery stenosis or heart failure. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function and electrolytes is recommended. Avoid use during pregnancy. Breastfeeding women should consult a physician before use. Inform the doctor about all other medicines being taken to prevent interactions.
