What is it used for?
This medicine is used to treat bacterial infections of the eye, such as bacterial conjunctivitis, when prescribed by a doctor.

How does it work?
Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic that stops the growth of bacteria causing the infection. Benzalkonium helps preserve the solution.

How to take/use it
Use in the eye only if the product is labelled for ophthalmic use, and follow the dose and duration prescribed. Wash hands before use, do not touch the dropper tip, and do not share the bottle. Remove contact lenses before use and ask a doctor when they can be worn again.

Common side effects
Temporary stinging, burning, irritation, redness, itching or blurred vision may occur after application.

Precautions
Do not use if allergic to ciprofloxacin or other quinolone antibiotics. Stop use and seek medical help for swelling, rash, breathing difficulty, severe eye pain or worsening vision. Consult a doctor if symptoms do not improve or worsen. Benzalkonium may irritate the eyes and may affect soft contact lenses.
