What is it used for?
This medicine is used with diet and exercise to help control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. It is not used to treat type 1 diabetes.

How does it work?
Dapagliflozin helps the kidneys remove extra glucose through urine. Sitagliptin helps the body release more insulin after meals and reduces the amount of glucose made by the liver.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, preferably at the same time each day. It may usually be taken with or without food. Drink enough fluids unless a doctor has advised otherwise. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Increased urination, thirst, dehydration, urinary tract infection, genital fungal infection, headache, nausea, or stomach upset may occur. Low blood sugar is more likely when used with insulin or sulfonylurea medicines.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about kidney problems, dehydration, frequent urinary or genital infections, pancreatitis, or heart problems. Seek urgent medical help for severe abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, difficulty breathing, confusion, or extreme weakness, as these may indicate ketoacidosis or pancreatitis. Inform the doctor before surgery or prolonged fasting, and during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Monitor blood sugar as advised.
