What is it used for?
This medicine is used with diet and exercise to help control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. It is not used to treat diabetic ketoacidosis or type 1 diabetes unless specifically advised by a specialist.

How does it work?
Glimepiride helps the pancreas release more insulin. Metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and improves the body's response to insulin, while dapagliflozin helps the kidneys remove excess glucose through urine.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed and at the same time each day. Take it with food if advised, and do not skip meals. Swallow the tablet whole unless instructed otherwise. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Low blood sugar, nausea, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, increased urination, dizziness, dehydration, urinary tract infections, and genital fungal infections may occur.

Precautions
Monitor blood sugar as advised. The risk of low blood sugar is higher if meals are skipped, alcohol is consumed, or other diabetes medicines are used. Tell the doctor about kidney or liver problems, dehydration, severe illness, planned surgery, or an X-ray/scan using contrast dye. Seek urgent medical help for severe weakness, vomiting, stomach pain, unusual breathing, confusion, or difficulty staying awake. Report symptoms of urinary or genital infection. Discuss use during pregnancy or breastfeeding with a doctor.
