What is it used for?
This combination is used with diet and exercise to help control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. It is not used to treat type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

How does it work?
Glimepiride helps the pancreas release more insulin. Metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and improves the body's response to insulin, while dapagliflozin helps remove excess glucose through urine.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Follow the prescribed timing and do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice. Taking it with food may help reduce stomach upset. Monitor blood sugar as advised and drink enough fluids unless fluid restriction has been prescribed.

Common side effects
Low blood sugar, nausea, diarrhoea, stomach upset, increased urination, dehydration, and genital or urinary infections may occur.

Precautions
Use only under medical supervision, especially with kidney or liver problems, dehydration, or a history of recurrent urinary or genital infections. The risk of low blood sugar is higher if meals are skipped or with alcohol. Seek urgent medical help for severe weakness, vomiting, stomach pain, breathing difficulty, confusion, or unusual drowsiness. Tell the doctor before surgery, prolonged fasting, or certain imaging tests using contrast dye. This medicine is not suitable for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
