Description

Dapaking-M 5/1000 XR Tablet is a fixed-dose combination that provides dual antihyperglycemic action for the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM).

• Dapagliflozin is a Sodium-Glucose Co-Transporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor, which reduces renal glucose reabsorption, promoting urinary glucose excretion, weight loss, and mild blood pressure reduction.

• Metformin XR is a biguanide that decreases hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity, helping reduce fasting and postprandial glucose levels with better gastrointestinal tolerance.

The extended-release formulation allows once-daily dosing and sustained glycemic control throughout the day.

Warnings and Precautions

Lactic Acidosis: May occur with Metformin in renal or hypoxic conditions.

Genital and Urinary Infections: Possible with Dapagliflozin; maintain hygiene.

Volume Depletion: May cause dehydration; ensure adequate fluid intake.

Ketoacidosis: Rare but serious; discontinue if symptoms occur.

Weight Loss and BP Reduction: Mild and beneficial in most patients.

Adverse Effects

Common: Polyuria, genital mycotic infections, nausea, diarrhea, headache, mild dehydration.
Occasional: Dysuria, fatigue, hypotension.
Rare but Serious: Lactic acidosis, euglycemic ketoacidosis, hypersensitivity reactions.
