What is it used for?
Diclofenac sodium is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine used to relieve pain, swelling and inflammation, especially in muscle, joint and arthritis-related conditions.

How does it work?
It reduces the production of prostaglandins, substances involved in pain, swelling and inflammation.

How to take/use it
Use only as prescribed and follow the instructions for the specific product, as diclofenac 75 mg may be available in different forms. Do not take more or use it for longer than recommended.

Common side effects
Indigestion, stomach pain, nausea, diarrhoea, headache and dizziness may occur.

Precautions
Avoid use if there is a history of stomach ulcer or bleeding, severe kidney or liver disease, heart disease, or allergy to diclofenac, aspirin or other NSAIDs unless specifically advised by a doctor. It may increase the risk of stomach bleeding and heart or kidney problems. Do not combine it with other NSAID painkillers unless advised. Seek medical help for black stools, vomiting blood, severe stomach pain, chest pain, breathing difficulty or facial swelling. It should generally be avoided during the last three months of pregnancy and used during pregnancy or breastfeeding only on medical advice.
