What is it used for?
Used to relieve painful menstrual cramps and other pain caused by smooth-muscle spasms, such as spasmodic abdominal pain.

How does it work?
Drotaverine relaxes the muscles responsible for spasms. Mefenamic acid reduces the production of prostaglandins, which contribute to pain and inflammation.

How to take/use it
Take only as prescribed by the doctor. Take it with or after food and swallow with water. Do not take more than the recommended amount or combine it with other painkillers such as ibuprofen, diclofenac or aspirin unless advised by a doctor.

Common side effects
Nausea, indigestion, stomach pain, diarrhoea, dizziness and headache.

Precautions
Avoid or seek medical advice before use if there is a history of stomach ulcer or bleeding, kidney or liver disease, heart disease, NSAID-sensitive asthma, or allergy to painkillers. Avoid during the last 3 months of pregnancy unless specifically prescribed. Consult a doctor during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Stop use and seek urgent medical help for severe stomach pain, black stools, vomiting blood, breathing difficulty, facial swelling or a severe skin reaction.
