What is it used for?
Domperidone is used to relieve nausea and vomiting. It may also help improve symptoms related to slow movement of the upper digestive system, such as bloating or a feeling of fullness, when prescribed by a doctor.

How does it work?
It blocks dopamine signals involved in nausea and vomiting and helps increase movement of food through the upper digestive system.

How to take/use it
Take this tablet only as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. Do not take more than recommended or use it for longer than advised. It is generally taken before food, but follow the instructions on the prescription or pack.

Common side effects
Dry mouth, headache, abdominal cramps, diarrhoea, and breast tenderness or breast milk production due to increased prolactin levels.

Precautions
Do not use without medical advice if there is a heart rhythm problem, heart disease, significant liver disease, or low potassium or magnesium levels. It should not be used if there may be a blockage or bleeding in the stomach or intestine. Tell the doctor about all medicines being taken, especially medicines that affect heart rhythm or interact with domperidone. Seek urgent medical help for fainting, a rapid or irregular heartbeat, or seizures.
