What is it used for?
Doxofylline is a bronchodilator used to help relieve breathing difficulty, wheezing and chest tightness in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It helps keep the airways open.

How does it work?
It relaxes the muscles around the airways, helping them widen and making breathing easier.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Swallow the tablet with water and do not take more or more often than directed. Do not stop regular asthma or COPD treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, headache, dizziness, difficulty sleeping, tremors, fast heartbeat and palpitations.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about heart problems, high blood pressure, seizures, liver or kidney disease, or pregnancy or breastfeeding. Seek medical help for severe or worsening breathing difficulty, chest pain or a persistent fast heartbeat. Inform the doctor about all other medicines being taken, as some medicines may interact with doxofylline.
