Diltiazem Hydrochloride IP 30 mg,Excipients: q.s.

Description:
DTM 30 mg Tablet contains Diltiazem Hydrochloride, a calcium channel blocker (CCB) belonging to the benzothiazepine class. It acts by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions through slow calcium channels in cardiac and vascular smooth muscle cells, leading to vasodilation, decreased myocardial contractility, and reduced heart rate.

It is used for the management of hypertension, angina pectoris, and certain cardiac arrhythmias.

Indications:

Hypertension (mild to moderate)

Chronic stable angina and vasospastic angina

Supraventricular tachyarrhythmias (rate control in atrial fibrillation/flutter)

Warnings and Precautions:

Use with caution in patients with heart failure, bradycardia, or hypotension.

Avoid use in severe left ventricular dysfunction, second- or third-degree AV block, or sick sinus syndrome (unless pacemaker present).

Monitor blood pressure and heart rate regularly during therapy.

Use cautiously with beta-blockers to avoid additive cardiac depression.

Contraindicated in known hypersensitivity to Diltiazem.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Headache, dizziness, flushing, fatigue, peripheral edema.

Occasional: Bradycardia, constipation, nausea.

Rare: Hypotension, skin rash, hepatic enzyme elevation.

Storage:

Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture.

Keep out of reach of children.
