What is it used for?
Dydrogesterone is used to treat conditions related to low progesterone, such as irregular or painful periods, heavy or abnormal menstrual bleeding, premenstrual symptoms and endometriosis. It may also be prescribed to support fertility treatment or as part of hormone replacement therapy, according to the doctor's advice.

How does it work?
It is a synthetic form of the natural hormone progesterone. It helps regulate the menstrual cycle and supports the lining of the uterus.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, preferably at the same time each day, with water. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice. If a dose is missed, follow the instructions in the package leaflet or ask a doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Headache or migraine, nausea, breast tenderness, stomach or abdominal discomfort, changes in menstrual bleeding and mood changes may occur. Skin rash or itching can occur less commonly.

Precautions
Use during pregnancy only when specifically prescribed, and inform the doctor if pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell the doctor about unexplained vaginal bleeding, liver problems, migraine, a history of blood clots or hormone-sensitive cancer. Seek medical advice for yellowing of the skin or eyes, severe abdominal pain, unusual bleeding or signs of an allergic reaction.
