Elloric 100 Tabs (10X10) Allopurinol 100Mg by Elder

What is it used for?
Allopurinol is used to lower high uric acid levels and prevent gout attacks, including the formation of uric acid kidney stones in some patients. It helps prevent future attacks but does not provide quick relief from pain during an acute gout attack.

How does it work?
It blocks an enzyme called xanthine oxidase, reducing the body’s production of uric acid.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, regularly, and preferably after food with plenty of water. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice. It may take time to reduce gout attacks, and attacks can sometimes occur when treatment is first started.

Common side effects
Nausea, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort and skin rash may occur.

Precautions
Stop taking it and seek urgent medical help if a rash, blistering, peeling skin, mouth sores, facial swelling or breathing difficulty develops. Tell the doctor about kidney or liver disease, and provide a complete list of medicines, especially azathioprine or mercaptopurine. Do not start, stop or change treatment without medical advice.
