Elvas 2.5 Tab (25X10) Enalapril Ip 2.5Mg by Elder

What is it used for?
Enalapril is mainly used to treat high blood pressure. It may also be prescribed to help manage heart failure.

How does it work?
It is an ACE inhibitor that relaxes and widens blood vessels. This lowers blood pressure and reduces the workload on the heart.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, at the same time each day, with or without food. Do not stop taking it or change the dose without medical advice.

Common side effects
Dizziness, headache, weakness, nausea and a dry, persistent cough may occur. Dizziness may be more noticeable when starting treatment or increasing the dose.

Precautions
Tell the doctor if there is kidney disease, high potassium levels, dehydration, or a previous serious swelling or allergic reaction to an ACE inhibitor. Enalapril should not be used during pregnancy and may harm the unborn baby. Seek urgent medical help for swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, or difficulty breathing. Avoid potassium supplements or potassium-containing salt substitutes unless advised by a doctor.
